Welcome to the web site of Blue Badger Tours, a small company specialising in tailored tours of the English Lake District and surrounding area. The company is owned and operated by Tom M^cCafferty - a registered Blue Badge Driver Guide. The company's aim is to combine the sheer beauty of the Lake District landscape with the history which lies within the area's many magnificent buildings and quaint villages. By offering guided walks and luxury tours, we hope to share our enthusiasm for one of the most idyllic areas in the country at a price which is surprisingly affordable.
Tom is available to drive and guide groups of all sizes in either a luxury MPV or a minibus for larger groups. For those parties already with a coach and driver, Tom can also guide from your own transport.

What is a Blue Badge Guide ?

Blue Badge Guides are selected, trained, examined and registered by the official British Tourist Boards. Training is detailed and comprehensive, the examinations rigorous and registration is an achievement.
The Blue Badge is Britain's premier guiding qualification - recognised by quality tour operators and travel companies, its professional status being acknowledged and respected by official and unofficial bodies throughout the travel industry.

What is a Driver Guide ?

Driver Guides belong to the Professional Association of Registered Blue Badge Driver Guides in Britain.  All Driver Guides are members of The Guild of Registered Tourist Guides and as such:
